Event Details

Many residents of East Texas have poor health as evidenced by the high rates of heart disease, diabetes, poor maternal and infant outcomes and lung and colorectal cancers compared with Texas as a whole. Further, certain populations in the region experience a disproportionate rate of these diseases. The reasons are varied and complex. The purpose of this conference is to continue to increase awareness of these problems, find solutions within the community and understand how we can collectively work on sustainable activities. Sessions willl include Food Insecurity and Community Impact with members of the SCFSC leadership team.
